Good Morning, financial-independence-oriented people of the internet! I hope you are well. I am relatively well! Been busy having summer fun, but then getting COVID. I was not spared. I would give it a 0/10 – do not recommend. Perhaps even less fun when your whole family gets it too.
That said we’re all back in the saddle now. We survived. I cannot imagine how bad it would have been without vaccinations. Thank you, scientists!
My journey to financial independence is continuing pretty much according to plan. Thanks to a raise this year at my day job, I have increased my savings rate in order to meet my goal of retiring at age 55. Now if the market could pick up it’s socks sometime between now and 10 years from now, that would be fab. The earlier the better, I say.
I’ve also been dabbling once again in side hustle initiatives.
Sometimes I wish I didn’t have a full time job so I’d have more time for side hustles. Ha! Anyway, I hope to write about that more later, when I actually have something up and running. I think really I have to get past my need for everything to be perfect, and focus on just getting something done that can possibly generate income. So that’s what I’m trying to do. I am trying a new small business with my brother, so having him relying on me getting stuff done is helpful. Our goal is to create some smaller passive income streams to get our feet wet / slowly generate enough to cover some of our expenses so we can save more.

I will try to pop in a bit more often this fall. I realize that I enjoy doing this, but it isn’t my main focus in life right now. Time is limited. I have lots that I would like to talk about but blogging is hard work! I mean, to make decent posts, rather than long rambly random posts. Like this one.
